I almost forgot

My favorite part of my apartment: The sticker that points to Mecca, which is posted on my ceiling right above my couch. I didn't even notice it until I was laying on the couch talking to Garrett one night. Qibla means "holy place" in Arabic, or so I am told.

Key Kim,
I miss you a lot, and I had no idea that you were even going to bahraini until your parents told me when they got to Utah for Miles wedding. Thats crazy. I hop all is well, I have a blog as well. Go and check it out and we can keep eachother updated. Love you and miss you. www.ortizfamilyof4.blogspot.com

Awesome...maybe you should take up praying as a cultural experiment! I'm glad that your apartment is not too tiny or varment infested or garishly colored! I'm very very glad that you have a blog so that I can participate in your adventure. At least you will not be a dull person when you are old. Maybe when you go senile, you'll get stuck in your Bahraini period!

it's always good to have a reminder of where the holy place is, especially if you accidentally forget. i have a feeling you'll be able to use this story as an opener for a church talk someday soon.
